Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Catalogue Online Now
All 147 lots are eligible for the new £15,000 Craven Breeze Up Bonus which is exclusively for horses purchased at the 2019 Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale. Similar to the widely acclaimed £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus, participating owners will receive a £15,000 bonus if their 2019 Craven Breeze Up purchase wins a Class 2, 3 or 4 two-year-old Maiden or Novice race in Britain or an ‘Open’ two-year-old maiden in Ireland. The cost to enter the £15,000 Craven Breeze Up Bonus will be a single payment of £1,000 and the number of qualifying British and Irish maiden and novice races is expected to be in excess of 300.
The catalogue numbers 19 two-year-olds out of Group or Listed winning mares including the OASIS DREAM filly out of Grade 1 EP Taylor Stakes winner LAHALEEB and the WAR FRONT colt out of the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner QUARTER MOON, who is a half-brother to the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes winner DIAMONDSANDRUBIES. In addition, there are 23 own or half brothers and sisters to Group and Listed winners catalogued. Amongst them are the DARK ANGEL half-brother to the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes winner INTENSE FOCUS, the KODIAC half-brother to the Group 1 Gold Cup winner TRIP TO PARIS, the NIGHT OF THUNDER half-sister to the dual-Grade 1 winner WIGMORE HALL and the INVINCIBLE SPIRIT half-brother to the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris winner ERUPT.
An impressive 43 of the sires represented have already produced Classic or Group 1 winners including ACCLAMATION, DANSILI, DARK ANGEL, EXCEED AND EXCEL, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, KODIAC, LOPE DE VEGA, NEW APPROACH, NO NAY NEVER, OASIS DREAM, SEA THE STARS, SHAMARDAL, SHOWCASING and SIYOUNI.Leading USA based sires also feature prominently including proven Group 1 siresELUSIVE QUALITY, FLATTER, HARD SPUN, KITTEN’S JOY, LEMON DROP KID, MEDAGLIA D’ORO, MORE THAN READY, SPEIGHTSTOWN, STREET BOSS, STREET SENSE, SUPER SAVER, THE FACTOR, UNCLE MO and WAR FRONT.
It is an exciting group of first season sires who are represented in the catalogue with their first crop of two-year-olds on offer. British and Irish based stallions FULBRIGHT, GLENEAGLES, GOLDEN HORN, GUTAIFAN, HOT STREAK, MAKE BELIEVE, MUHAARAR, NIGHT OF THUNDER and OUTSTRIP are joined by their USA-based contemporaries AMERICAN PHAROAH, CARPE DIEM, COMPETITIVE EDGE and DAREDEVIL.
Willie Browne’s Mocklershill has the largest consignment with 15 juveniles catalogued whilst Thomond O’Mara’s Knockanglass Stables are also well represented will a total of nine. Last year’s sale-topping consignor, Tanya Browne’s Mayfield Stables, is bringing seven two-year-olds to the sale whilst the largest British based team comes from Robin Sharp’s Houghton Bloodstock which has eight juveniles catalogued.
In addition to all lots being eligible for the new £15,000 Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Bonus, buyers looking to benefit from additional enticing incentives will be well catered for with six lots signed up to the hugely popular £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus, three entered in each of the 300,000 Euro Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Stakes and the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes and 59 which are Plus 10 qualified. Additionally there are five two-year-olds qualified for French Owners’ Premiums.
Commenting on the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up catalogue, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said:
“The Craven Breeze Up Sale consistently produces top class racehorses and Grade 1 Natalma Stakes winner LA PELOSA was one of nine Group/Listed performers to have already come from last year’s sale along with Group winner QUEEN OF BERMUDA. The £15,000 Craven Breeze Up Bonus is an exciting new incentive for buyers and there are six lots who are already qualified for the £25,000 October Book 1 Bonus which would result in a massive £40,000 in additional prizemoney for a horse winning a qualifying race. The quality catalogue of 147 lots has a strong representation of two-year-olds by many of the world’s most sought after sires and the sale looks certain to attract the usual international mix of buyers to Tattersalls.”
The ‘breeze’ for the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale will take place at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse on Monday 15th April starting at 9.30am, and the sale will take place on Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th April, after the conclusion of racing on the first two days of Newmarket’s three-day Craven Meeting.
