Two Day Tattersalls February Sale Catalogue Now Online

488 lots have been catalogued for the two-day Tattersalls February Sale which will take place Thursday 2nd - Friday 3rd February and will also feature the ever popular TBA Stallion Parade commencing before the start of the sale on Thursday 2nd February. The catalogue for the largest ever Tattersalls February Sale can be viewed online at www.tattersalls.com and will be published on Monday, January 16.

Comprising 209 fillies in/out of training, 43 broodmares, 182 colts/geldings in/out of training, 31 yearlings and 23 two-year-olds, the catalogue features high class consignments from many of the world’s leading owner breeders including Cheveley Park Stud, Godolphin, Juddmonte Farms and Shadwell Estates, who have 90 lots catalogued between them.

The largest consignment is the team of 57 coming from Godolphin, whose mare DOLDRUMS topped last year’s Tattersalls February Sale when selling for 145,000 guineas. Eye-catchers amongst the 2017 draft include three Group or Listed placed fillies out of training, BERAYMI (by MANDURO), MODERAH (by MAKFI), and SEA OF SNOW (by DISTORTED HUMOR), as well as the Group 3 Italian 1000 Guineas winner LOVE OF DUBAI, in foal to DAWN APPROACH and the Listed winner SEMAYYEL, in foal to NIGHT OF THUNDER. Three Group or Listed placed mares in foal to the top class DARK ANGEL, BLOCKADE, DANCEALOT and MASAYA, all look set to command plenty of attention, as do the Listed placed duo ERMINE AND VELVET and GHANAIAN, in foal to NIGHT OF THUNDER and NEW APPROACH respectively.

Regally bred fillies from Juddmonte Farms and Shadwell Estates are also always much sought after and Juddmonte’s PIAFFE, a half-sister to Group 1 winner GIANT TREASURE and multiple Grade 2 winner JIBBOOM, and Shadwell’s MURHIBAANY, a half sister to the Listed winners HAATHEQ and FARHAAN, out of a Listed winning daughter of the outstanding Champion SHADAYID, are amongst the highlights.

The highly rated EASTON ANGEL, a Listed winning and multiple Group 2 placed daughter of DARK ANGEL, is amongst the highlights of the Castlebridge Consignment, while the well bred Group 2 placed DRESSED IN FUR, from leading French outfit the Coulonces Consignment, is another high class race filly.

Amongst the broodmares are those in foal to proven Group 1 sires CAPE CROSS, DARK ANGEL, HELMET, IFFRAAJ and NEW APPROACH, as well as exciting Group 1 winning young sires BRAZEN BEAU, DAWN APPROACH, GARSWOOD, GOLDEN HORN, NIGHT OF THUNDER, RULER OF THE WORD and WAR COMMAND. Pinhookers also look well catered for, with yearlings by proven Group 1 sires including ARCHIPENKO, HELMET, KYLLACHY, PACO BOY and SEA THE STARS, as well as by first crop sires ALHEBAYEB, BURWAAZ, COACH HOUSE, DUNADEN, GREGORIAN, SEA THE MOON and TORONADO.

Commenting on the 2017 Tattersalls February Sale, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said;

“The Tattersalls February Sale goes from strength to strength and this year’s catalogue is not only the largest ever assembled for this fixture, but also a catalogue of real quality. The dam of 2016 St Leger winner HARBOUR LAW was purchased at last year’s February Sale, and there is no shortage of high class breeding stock in this year’s catalogue, as well as horses in training, two year olds and yearlings to appeal to the usual diverse mix of domestic and international buyers which typifies sales of this nature at Tattersalls.”

The February Sale will commence immediately after the TBA Stallion Parade which begins at 10.45am on Thursday 2nd February and the sale will start at 10.00am on Friday 3rd February.
